#6 The major theme of this novel

The theme of this novel was human beings have evil in the inside. This theme shows to teenager living in 2008, that we need rules to control ourselves. In addition, at least once, kids might have thought it would be a better place if there were no adults. However, this novel precisely shows that kids need an adult who have more knowledge and ability to control them. It seems kids are human and adult is God. If we did not have God guiding us, we would tear each other and make a sinful chaotic world. To me, this showed we cannot live without God. I disagree that human beings have evil inside them. They used to have evil inside of them, but when Jesus died on the cross, their evil inside them were cleansed. But then why do we still sin? I thank my pastor for today’s sermon. He said we still sin because of Satan’s temptation. Though the devil was defeated by the cross, Satan would not acknowledge that he was defeated. So the devil is trying to find people who doubt the cross and tempt them into sinning. That is why we still have sin in our lives. In conclusion, I interpreted this novel as saying to teenager that we would have been this way if Jesus did not come and we should obey God.

Yes, I agree with you. Even though we wish there were no adults, we need them to lead to the right way. And adults can be wise because of the laws and rules. And that's why we need good society.

well... dou u really think u need society in this lad without uninhabitabt land? they are busy with finding food.. It's silly to desire ideal life in that situation. Finding food and be wild.. that's the only way to survive..
Also I think I don't think we can judge if human's inside is filled with vice ir virtue. we have both. and it reveals by your will. Also the thing Jack's tride have done ....I don't think this is teling that humans inside is evil. this is just one action they did to survive (but not the killing part;;;)
