Qualities you would like to have
If I could be any Greek goddess, I would want the ability to cure people's wounds in the heart and an ability to read people's mind. I would like to have the ability to fly through the sky. I would like to have the ability to have talent in music and cure people by music. I would be a virgin like Artemis, and vivid. I would have two big eyes and my hair style would change from season to season. At spring I would tie my hair in any style, summer I would have a short hair style. At autumn I would tie again in any style , and at winter I would have a long hair. I would like to be the goddess of love. Also, I would like people like me. So that the goddess of love would not have a wounded heart. Lastly, I would like to have the ability to see everything. Never wear glasses, not even contact lense, but see from Heaven to Earth. Thats what I would like to have if I was a Greek goddess.
Greek monsters
Hyperion was the titan god of light. Hyperion's parents were Ouranos the heaven and Gaia the Earth. Hyperion, Krios, Koios and Iapetos were placed at the four corners of the world. They held their father tight while Kronos castrated him with a sickle. These four Titanes holds heaven and earth apart, or the entire universe. Hyperion was defeated by Zeus, and threw Hyperion into the deep hole of Tartaros. So Hyperion who used to held the heavens turned to prisoners of the entire universe. Hyperion married his sister Theia, and became the father of Helios, Selene, and Eos.

Greek god and goddess

Artemis is the goddess of hunter and moon. Zeus and Leto are Artemis parents. When Leto gave birth to Artemis, she did not have much pain. Artemis helped her mother to have birth to Apollo, Artemis's twin brother. When Artemis was three, she wished to Zeus that she could have permanent virgin, freedom, and arrows and bows like her brothers. Artemis is the symbol of virgin, she usually was around with girl companions. Artemis also protected animals and childbirth. She had one love, but Apollo tricked her, and Artemis killed her love, Orion, by her own hands. After that she confirmed that she would never love again. Artemis is similar with Hercules on passion for their work. Because they are so focused in their work, usually nothing can get ahead of it. However, they have some differences. Though they both has a same father, Zeus, one became goddess and the other human. Furthermore, Artemis was not into love while Hercules sacrificed his life to love.

Setting in this novel
Having Ministry of Love is a setting that is memorable for me. Ministry of Love seems there are working hard to help love. However, the irony of this title gave me a more memorable shock. There is no windows in this building and people who gets to go there can never live as they lived before. When O'Brien said this place is where people get cured, it was another shock for me. In the Ministry of Love, there are three stages. These stages made me uncomfortable and torturing. Especially the last stage, the room 101, made the setting Ministry of Love more brutal and gory. Whenever I remember "1984", I will remember one-third of the novel with Ministry of Love.

What is the major theme of this novel?
The major theme of this novel is that it is impossible for human to make perfect world. Though it seemed perfect in the outside, each individual were terrified of thought crime and death and had a miserable life. There was no spirit in their lives. "The Party" were emphasising war is peace, freedom is slavery, and igornace is strength. Those are all opposite of real peace and happiness. Human beings were controlling everything. This theme is important to teenagers living in 2008 because it is showing that God is the only one who can make perfect world. Teenagers should focus on God. World that is controlled by human is not a pleasant world but hopeless world. We are living in a world that is dark and evil. Though there are people who are pure and kind, there are more people who are dirty and evil. Evil people are contaminating the world for they do not God. We should live our life toward God for He will give you peace, happiness, and hope.

Who are the main characters in the novel?
The main characters in the novels are Winston Smith, Julia, and O'Brien. Winston is a person who comtemplates about the society he lives in. He tried to resist "the Party" and protect the truth. Winston also gained love that he thought he would never gain. I kind of respected him because Winston was a brave person who even tried to go against "The Party" If I was in this society I would follow along and hold on to the truth, but never express it outside. Julia who also resisted "the Party" has a cool and indifferent personality and was able to blend in the society easily as if she never thought the society wrong. It was pity to see her suffer at a young age though it was her choice. I did not like her much. She seemed live life lightly. O'Brien is part of the Party who disguised himself as one of the rebellion to the society, and caught Winston and Julia who goes against "the Party". I personally dislike him very much for what he do and how he acts. He seems arrogant when Winston and Julia sees him at his house, and acts cold as ice. These characters had their each position that showed us different perspectives.
What is the climax of this novel?
The climax of this novel was when everything was flipped. Winston and Julia gets caught by Mr. Carrington's treachery, O'Brien was actually involved in thought police, and Winston and Julia gets brainwashed. I was very shocked when I knew Mr. Carrington betrayed them! Though I thought O'Brien was suspecious, Mr. Carrington was just a shock. Its like a close friend who knows your secret blows it all to others! I felt there is no one else we can trust except God. O'Brien was a person who I did not trust at the first place when Winston and Julia went to him. I felt hopless again as Winston and Julia were being brainwashed. Winston and Julia are just poor, miserable people who are caught and get tortured. I was depressed because there are being tortured and brainwashed for holdfasting the truth.
It was depressing when the ending was not the ending I expected. The climax part made my heart pound and heartwrenching for they had to lose their love, thought, and truth.
